Bordesley Ball Foot
A 76mm oak ball with a 20mm dowel turned into it from the same stick — so it’s a foot, not a ball with a flat on it. Bore a hole, glue it in. Cabinets, sideboards, chests, ottomans. Trade boxes of 20.

Warwick Bar turned leg — four swelled oak legs on the workshop bench, three soft swells down each leg falling to a slim foot
Warwick Bar leg, close detail of the swells showing grain and tool marksWarwick Bar legs under a plain oak console table
Warwick Bar
Three soft swells down the whole length — Ø64, Ø56, Ø46 — falling to a Ø22 foot. The quiet one: rhythm spread over the whole leg rather than a band of ornament. 45cm; also 38 and 52cm. Clear or fumed oak.

Adderley turned leg — four ebonised legs on the workshop bench, three rings in a band over a slender tapering shaft

Adderley
Three rings at Ø68 / Ø60 / Ø52 dropped clear of the top, over a shaft that runs Ø28 down to Ø24. A fat top, a hard band, then almost nothing. Supplied with an angled seat so it rakes 6°. 52cm; also 38 and 45cm. Oak clear or ebonised tulipwood.

Duddeston turned leg — four ebonised tulipwood legs with five sharp-arris plates on a plain shaft
Duddeston leg, close detail of the knife-edged arris catching light as a bright ringDuddeston leg on the lathe with the skew chisel on the rest
Duddeston
Five sharp-arris plates at 84mm pitch, Ø66 decaying to Ø50, on a Ø36 shaft. A knife edge, not a soft bead — it catches light as a bright ring. Finished by hand off the skew, because a sanding mop would round every edge. Ebonised tulipwood only. 45cm; also 38cm.
£457ebonised · set of four · 45cm

Each leg is turned by hand, so grain and figure vary from leg to leg. How we use AI tools, including for imagery, is explained in our Content & AI Use Policy.

Questions, answered

How big do the wooden balls get?

Big. The standard range runs to a giant 34cm (13.4in) solid-hardwood sphere, and we can turn large bespoke balls up to 45cm (17.7in). The oversized ones (20cm and up) are proper statement pieces — display, sculpture, interiors, architectural wooden balls, newel post finials, and film & TV props.

How long until my ball arrives?

Every ball is made to order. We pick, pack and dispatch within 3 working days, then UK delivery is 2–3 working days after dispatch (next working day where available). You'll get a tracking number when it ships.

How much is delivery?

Delivery is calculated at checkout by destination. Every order ships tracked and insured from our Birmingham workshop. International rates show at checkout; customs or import duties may apply outside the UK.

Can I return it?

Standard, unaltered sizes can be returned within 14 days of delivery (return postage is yours). Balls made to a custom size, wood or finish are made to your spec and exempt from cancellation. Anything faulty or not as described is always put right. Full returns policy ↗

What's the finish — and is it solid wood?

Solid hardwood throughout, no veneer — and no drilled hole unless you ask for one. Supplied unpainted with a natural finish, ready to paint, oil or stain to taste. Each ball is turned by hand, so grain and figure vary from piece to piece.

Can you make a size or wood that isn't listed?

Yes — almost any ball or sphere from 2 to 45cm (0.8–17.7in) in oak, walnut or pine. Draw your bespoke size to scale and get an instant price with the size & price estimator, or ask for a bespoke quote ↗.

Where are they made?

Turned by hand in our workshop in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Got a size in mind?

Almost any ball or sphere from 2 to 45cm (0.8–17.7in) — oak, walnut or pine — can be turned just for you. Not sure what it'll cost? Draw your bespoke size and get an instant price.
